Social Media & content creation just got easier for Freybe.

Freybe connected with us because they wanted help with their social media. They were finding that needing to come up with new content ideas, create new content, write copy, research hashtags, schedule and publish it all was taking up too much of their time. So we partnered with Freybe to manage their social media and take all of this off their plate so they can focus on what they do best.

 

The Fall & Holiday Campaign Plan

Beyond managing their general social media each week, Freybe wanted to run a new campaign starting in the fall. With summer coming to an end and people getting back to their routines, life can often feel a bit less exciting and more mundane.

The goal was to show how introducing Freybe products into your life can elevate even the most simple moments and keep that sense of joy and adventure in your life. The idea being the excitement of summer does not have to end, just splash in a little Freybe!

 

Making the most of shoot day

When you work with us at Capture the Moment Media, our insight and preparation into making the most of capturing content on set goes a lonnnggg way and saves our clients a lot of time and money. Freybe knew they had plans to promote their new fall products as well as their holiday products. So we worked with them to capture all the content needed for both campaigns in two days! What were we able to do with all of these creative assets?

 

We kicked off the fall campaign by running a giveaway contest on Instagram. Considering Freybe was new to the platform, this strategy was a great way to get brand awareness, engagement and attract new followers. We ended up bringing in 2500+ comments, approximately 6,000 views and tripled their follower count all from a single post.

With people engaged, we released some of our new fall content to showcase their new products. Check it out on Freybe’s instagram and while you are there give them a follow.

With all this new content, we have been able to manage and organize all of the content in one place so it is easily accessible. As we continue with managing Freybe’s social media, we will be able to repurpose this content and create new posts - saving them time and marketing dollars.

What challenges made this video necessary?

 

The challenge was to make three videos celebrating three different BCIT graduates and their achievements. The videos had to be shot in a relatively short period of time, and would all play at a gala event. Each film needed to be high energy so they would entertain the crowd while at the same time connect the award recipients with the core values of what BCIT represents.

Most of the recipients lived in Vancouver, but one lived in New York City. That film was pivotal as it was a great opportunity to showcase the reach BCIT has, and the impact they are making around the world. The NYC shoot presented a unique set of challenges in itself: travelling to NYC and telling this story in an engaging way, with a subject that was very busy, in a place that we’re not very familiar with.

 
 
 

WHAT WAS OUR SOLUTION TO OVERCOMING THIS CHALLENGE?

We used the same approach with each subject to create a consistent feel that took  variety from the specific stories and characters of the various recipients. We took the time to properly get to know each recipient. We pre-interviewed them and learned about what makes them unique and how those things can relate to what BCIT represents. We shot very personal interviews with each subject and two of their chosen colleagues. We made the interviews feel like a conversation, this allowed us to connect them personally to the audience. Then we took time to capture some candid B-roll with each recipient to help tell a more engaging story. This gave us more variety of content so we did not need to lean on the interviews as much, making each film faster and more entertaining to the crowd.

We had the same approach with our subject from NYC; we took the time to know her and what was important in her life. We then took time with her in NYC, filming her in places that are significant to her personally while also showcasing the city itself. This gave us some really personal content that showed the subject as a huge BCIT success story on a global scale.

 
 

What value did BCIT get from working with us?

They got three videos that all spoke to the core values of BCIT while at the same time celebrating the award recipients in a big way, entertaining the crowd and helping them to raise more funding for the school.

What value did BCIT get from the content created?

We were able to build a strong relationship with them and create a style of film that can be repeated for years to come. This is an annual event, and now that we have been through this with them and everyone knows what to expect, the next time we produce these films will be even easier.

Freybe

What challenges made this video necessary?

 

The main challenge was to create a film with a distinct Freybe flavor (see what we did there?); something you could watch and know instantly that it was a Freybe film, without ever seeing the logo. They wanted this film to have elements that could be repeated in future productions, while at the same time connecting emotionally with their ideal consumer.

Freybe also wanted to shoot two films at the same time, maximizing the budget and creating similar films with different goals. The first film would speak to their target customer, while the second would be internal-focused; meant for showing employees what it means to be a Freybe team member.

 
 
 

WHAT WAS OUR SOLUTION TO OVERCOMING THIS CHALLENGE?

We decided to lead with a personal and honest tone by filming with real people in various authentic environments. The style of filming would be organic, handheld shots – nothing overly produced. We would combine that with a produced opening scene that would transition into an animated sequence. This would help us communicate more details in a creative way, while also developing a repeatable style that can be a part of the Freybe brand for years to come.

Both films follow the same structure, with a more produced opening, followed by an animated sequence that allows us to cover more details, and finally a more authentic lifestyle section to end the film. At the heart of both films is a message about people. The brand film speaks to what it means to be the kind of person that buys Freybe products and shares the Freybe core values.

The internal video speaks to the values of Freybe employees and how they align with the consumer’s, creating an authentic understanding of the customer’s needs. This approach allowed us to shoot similar content and maximize the production spend of the client, while also allowing us to create a style of film that would be very recognizable as a “Freybe Film”.

 
 

What value did Freybe get from working with us?

  • We took the Freybe team through our Video BluePrint workshop, this process allowed them to truly understand what was needed from the video and got everyone on the same page with the goals and direction early.

  • They were launching their new brand at a year end AGM, where they played the films to showcase the new direction of the brand.

  • They will use the brand film on their new website launching later in the year.

  • They will use the internal film to help introduce new employees to the company, to help them better understand what it means to be a part of this family and what values they share.

What value did Freybe get from the content created?

  • Freybe got not only a video that will tell the brand’s story for years to come, but also a structure and style that’s recognisable as being particula to the brand and that can be followed and repeated for years to come.

  • We have also created a large library of content we can draw from and add to as we edit more content for them from the footage already created.
